Jobs boost as healthcare firm Fazzi to create 300 new roles in next five years

US healthcare company Fazzi has opened a new coding and health services firm in Limerick and aims to create 300 new jobs over the next five years.

Medical coding is a regulated process that changes the likes of diagnoses, treatments and procedures, into a universal medical code known as ICD.
The newly formed Irish company has already begun providing coding services to the US homecare and hospice sector.

The firm’s founder Dr Robert Fazzi expressed his delight at setting up in Limerick.
“We are very thankful to the IDA and the Irish government for welcoming us and helping us to develop our business here. Without question, Ireland has proven to be a country strongly supportive to the creation of innovative and growth oriented companies.”

Jobs minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor said the announcement was significant for Limerick.
“I am very keen to pursue opportunities for investment and job creation in new sectors, these are increasingly possible with our infrastructure and talented workforce which enables companies like Fazzi to undertake work for customers in different parts of the world.”
