Exchequer figures for the month of October show that Government tax revenues for the first ten months of the year running slightly ahead of target.
Total tax revenues stood at €44.973 billion at the end of October, which was €706m or 1.6% ahead of target.
Government spending stood at €43.224 billion. Compared to the same point last year, this represents a 6% increase in current spending and a 23.9% increase in capital spending.
Today’s figures show that a total of €6.885 billion in corporation tax has been collected so far this year.
This source of tax continues to outperform and is running over 10% ahead of expectations.
Income tax receipts are up 8.1% compared to last year and are broadly in line with expectations for this year.
