Irish catheter and extrusion provider VistaMed is to create 200 new jobs as part of a major €10m investment, supported by Enterprise Ireland.
The new jobs will be based at the firm’s state-of-the-art research and development facility in Carrick-on-Shannon in Leitirm.
VistaMed’s announcement brings the total number of positions at the company up to 525 with staff ranging from engineers to product builders.
The company is also expanding its existing manufacturing facility by another 45,000 sq ft.
Just under 40 of the jobs are now in place with recruitment for another 163 roles ongoing. The firm expects to have all the jobs filled by the end of 2018.
VistaMed managing director Patick Mulholland said the company will look to expand beyond its roots.
“This new research and development facility will allow us to further enhance the rapid project ‘turnaround’ times currently experienced by VistaMed’s global customer base.
“Combined with the addition of sophisticated equipment, this will enable us to continue to offer a world class service to the global medical device industry and expand our talented technical resources,” Mr Mullholland said.
